Share your story at "You Belong on the Water"
Do you have a story to tell about life on the water? You Belong on the Water, put on by Bellingham SeaFeast, is looking for passionate speakers to share their experiences in fishing, ocean sports, aquaculture, and beyond. This ticketed event on Friday, May 9th will bring together a well-rounded lineup of women and people from different cultures whose lives are deeply connected to the sea, offering a platform to inspire, educate, and connect with an engaged audience.
Whether your experience comes from Indigenous maritime traditions, generational aquaculture knowledge, or global seafaring adventures, we want to hear from you.
Whether you’re a seasoned storyteller or new to the stage, this is your chance to share your journey—through spoken word, poetry, or personal narrative. Speakers will also have the opportunity to meet attendees, network with others who are connected to the sea, and, if applicable, sign and sell books. Storytellers will receive a stipend for their performance.
Speakers will have 5 or 10 minutes to tell their story. The story must be true, and must be yours to tell.
Your voice can help highlight the strength, resilience, and adventure of life on the water in all its forms. Interested? We’d love to hear from you!
Fill out this interest form and we will follow up with you.
