BEACH Student Volunteer Registration - Fall Term 2025

Thank you for applying to volunteer to serve as part of Ciocca Center's Broncos Entrepreneurs' Applied Collaboration Hub (BEACH).

BEACH provides an interdisciplinary SCU-wide advisory service for startups of all kinds. The program is crafted as an experiential program that has business and law students working together with alumni mentors and attorneys to help startups or other small companies while furthering their own education and experience.

You will be mentored as part of the experience by a practicing lawyer for law students and a business professional for business students.  You will be part of an interdisciplinary team of law and business students solving real business problems.

By signing up you are saying we can rely on you to work with your team to serve 2 clients over two-three months.

BEACH will begin October 1st, 2025 and be completed the week before Thanksgiving (Nov.17-21).

You must be available on Saturday, October 4th from 9:30-10:30 am to take a Zoom call with your clients.

Please provide the information requested below.  Feel free to contact us at beachclinic@scu.edu with any questions.

I agree and understand that I will be expected to spend approximately two to five hours prior to serving clients in each clinic communicating with clients, researching topics, and communicating with my lawyer mentor about upcoming client sessions. I also agree to submit a report summarizing my experience or complete a post-clinic survey at the end of the term.*
I understand that 1) student volunteers will receive training on conducting client interviews, and must receive such training before interacting with clients. 2) students may be asked to obtain and review client-supplied materials in advance, conduct client intake interviews, and perform preliminary research re issues presented. 3) The level of participation in counseling sessions is expected to vary according to year (1L, 2L, etc.) and individual skill level. *
I understand that I will be a part of a team of law and business students who will be supervised by a practicing attorney and business expert.  I also understand that for some clients I will serve as the primary point person (main client contact), and for others I will be a supporting team member.  I agree to work collaboratively and fulfill my role whether or not I am the point person and to keep all communications relating to the client confidential.*
By submitting this form, I agree to volunteer, but I understand that I may or may not be called upon to do so, and that Ciocca Center is under no obligation to accept my offer to volunteer.*
