ARTVILLE Friday, September 29: 11am-7pmSaturday, September 30: 10am-7pm Sunday, October 1: 11am-5pm Nashville, TN (Wedgewood Houston/Chestnut Hill) Public Art Award - Application Process You will receive confirmation that your application has been accepted. The ARTVILLE team will be reviewing applications for eligibility and if questions arise, the team will email directly to get in touch during the application window. Review and Selection Process ARTVILLE has established an advisory board which is made up of a panel of experts including the ARTVILLE team, local gallerists, creatives and artists as well as our curatorial team at GBA that will review all the applications. EligibilityThe ARTVILLE team is interested in creating a visually and culturally rich temporary site-specific public art program that represents the creativity and vision of the creative community of Nashville. We are looking for immersive, experiential concepts that can happily co-exist within the neighborhood. Matching Public Art Application Ideas and Neighborhood Spaces For this inaugural year it is difficult for us to provide exact images and specs for the spaces we will be able to match the public art to as the community partners are providing new spaces and opportunities everyday. We have already mapped out 10-12 locations throughout the neighborhood for outside installations or murals on existing walls of buildings in the Wedgewood Houston Chestnut Hill neighborhoods. It is best to imagine your works living outside in a green space, on the side of a building, in a parking lot and safely secured and visible throughout the weekend – rain or shine. Example Sites Include-2-3 building walls available for painted murals -Green spaces across from and around Merritt Mansion -Some spaces in The Outfield and surrounding paved areas -Parking and walkway spaces throughout Wedgewood Houston and Chestnut Hill Applicant Confidentiality We are happy for applicants to share the ARTVILLE application link far and wide, however it is our goal to ensure there is confidentiality of our applicants and panelists at this time. ARTVILLE will notify all applicants at the close of the application window of their project status and while there may be a waitlist created, we will also be sensitive to timing to complete a project as well. Your name will not be published anywhere unless you are given a public art award. Award Process Once accepted into the award program, we will provide some basic legal documentation to ensure both parties understand and agree to the terms of the award. 25% of the cash award will be provided to the artist by July 1, 25% percent will be provided by August 1 and the other 50% will be provided on September 1 based on a feasibility review of the first phase of the project. Artist Promotional Program ARTVILLE will promote the artists provided with awards in advance of the install and the team will hope to work closely with all award winners to promote participation both on ARTVILLE website, in press and socials as well as throughout the artists practice. At launch, the work will be photographed and will also be included on the ‘Artwalk Map’ which will be created to promote the public art award winners.
