2024 Hollyhock Scholarship Banner

The Hollyhock scholarship program is one of the key strategies we use to expand program access to traditionally underrepresented and marginalized communities. To achieve this goal, we ask that applicants meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • You identify as a member of a community that has been historically marginalized. Some examples include: A member of the Global Majority, a collective term for people of African, Asian, Latin American, and Arab descent who together comprise the vast majority (around 80%) of people in the world; A member of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
  • You identify as Indigenous, Aboriginal, First Nations, Metis or Inuit.
  • You face health concerns and/or have diverse neurological abilities that limit or prevent your ability to work and/or earn a basic living wage.
  • You experience financial hardship and struggle to meet basic needs like housing, food, and healthcare.
  • You are an elder living on a fixed income.
  • You are a single parent or caregiver in need of respite.
  • You do not own assets such as property or other investments.
  • Your primary residence is Cortes Island or Quadra Island.
  • You are applying for a Hemera scholarship for Skymind: Sacred Land, Sacred View with Lopöns Pieter Oosthuizen and Charlotte Rotterdam on May 30-June 4, 2025.

We kindly ask if you are not experiencing financial need, that you consider paying for your experience. This helps us to prioritize individuals who do not have the financial resources to do so.
