Regional Competition Host -  Inquiry Form

Thank you for your interest in the MATE ROV Competition! The MATE ROV Competition is a global student underwater robotics (remotely operated vehicle or ROV) competition that consists of the World Championship and a network of 46 (and growing!) regional contests that take place across North America, Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Western Pacific. Hundreds of student teams from upper elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, home schools, community colleges, universities, and community organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club and 4-H, participate.

Eligibility: MATE partners are diverse and may include private and public colleges and research institutions, high schools, private industry, non-profit organizations, public aquaria and museums, state and federal government agencies and professional societies. Collectively, the membership of MATE can achieve progress toward minimizing barriers and maximizing flow of people, funds, and information between members. MATE partners can be influential as a group in voicing concerns and in disseminating ideas and models.

Your organization should take the following prerequisite steps for orientation to the MATE ROV Competition and for consideration as a MATE partner in our regional network. Please note that the first two steps below are required before consideration of your submission:

1. Attend a MATE ROV Competition (regional and/or world event)
2. Mentor a team (recruit, train, and compete in a MATE regional and/or world event)
3. Attend a MATE workshop (learn new skills for professional development)
4. Host a MATE regional pilot competition (start small)
