This year, CJP will be highlighting Hanukkah Then & Now, where community members are invited to recall the warmth of bright childhood memories and reflect on what Jewish traditions mean to them now.
We want your charming personal reflections: the menorah gifted to you by a beloved Bubbe, your funny-yet-practical family tradition of giving socks on the third night of Hanukkah, the tradition of volunteering or giving back on one of the nights.
We also want to dig a little deeper and ask meaningful questions: What memories keep you dedicated to our Jewish community? What does Hanukkah feel like now when antisemitism is on the rise? How do we keep lighting our candles during times when we feel threatened, or when we feel isolated, or when the future feels so uncertain? What has Hanukkah taught you about resiliency and survival?
Submit your Hanukkah Then & Now anecdotes below!
