2021 Internship Program

Every year MGA selects a handful of MGA Associates to join the MGA Team as our MGA Intern Class.  Interns in the past have written content, coordinated events, supported our members, and worked on community engagement. Interns collaborate and work with talent, and team members from all over the world, giving them a front row seat to the latest trends, and thought leaders in the mobile app marketing industry while gaining valid professional skills to build their resumes.

 

About You:  Our internships are our gateway for students to begin careers not only within events, but also with in the mobile app marketing industry.  We are looking for rising digital event professionals who are digital natives embody the MGA spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship, and professionalism. They are able to identify opportunities, think on their feet, proactively get things done and meet their commitments. A passion for learning and community is a must.

 

About Internship: Students are assigned to a division of MGA:  Event Content, Content Marketing, Community/Membership.  All students are required to participate in MGA events. They will learn how to work remotely, using standard industry tools such as Asana, Slack, and others. As an MGA Associate you can expect to have your opinions and ideas heard by being included in planning meetings and weekly status calls.

 

Internship Opportunities

Event Content Intern:

  • You will be working closely with our Content Director:
    • Solicit Speakers
    • Coordinate Speaker Assets
    • Provide Speaker support prior to shows
    • Research topics to drive attendance
    • Pull Data/Analytics
    • Support the set-up of webcasts, webinars, and virtual events
    • Attend MGA Events, webcasts and webinars
    • Attend Weekly Staff meetings and strategy sessions.
    • Meeting deadlines as assigned.

 

Content Marketing Intern:

  • You will be working closely with our Communications Director:
    • Soliciting Content from Speakers
    • Collecting assets from Sponsor for content marketing
    • Writing blog posts
    • Coordinating the content calendar
    • Attend MGA Events, webcasts and webinars
    • Attend Weekly Staff meetings and strategy sessions.
    • Coordinate MGA promotional efforts
    • Research/Pull Data and analyze upcoming trends in the mobile app marketing space
    • Meet deadlines as assigned

 

Community/Membership Intern:

  • You will be working closely with our Social Media Manager and CEO:
    • Work on ways to develop our MGA community
    • Engage with our community
    • Research/Analyze member needs wants and share data with wider MGA Team.
    • Write community posts
    • Be a community ambassador during events, webinars.
    • Attend MGA Events, webcasts and webinars
    • Attend Weekly Staff meetings and strategy sessions.
    • Meet deadlines as assigned

 

Event Promotion Intern:

  • You will be working closely with our Social Media Manager, Event Planners, and Communication Director:
    • Be part of the planning process for our 2022 Event line-up
    • Assist in developing promotional campaigns to encourage Publisher attendance
    • Work on developing earned promotional opportunities and help develop partnerships with media outlets
    • Attend MGA Events, webcasts and webinars
    • Attend weekly staff meetings and strategy sessions
    • Help coordinate MGA promotional efforts
    • Research/pull data and analyze upcoming trends in event promotion/activations
    • Use Asana and HubSpot to complete duties
    • Meet deadlines as assigned

Requirements:

  • Event Management, Journalism, Marketing Majors, or Education OR previous internship or relevant experience
  • Prior experience in customer service, writing and editing
  • Experience with publishing platforms, current digital and social media technologies and SEO best practices
  • Interest in mobile app publishing, mobile marketing, and of course event management.
  • Ability to analyze documents during research
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Language skills are a plus for international research
  • Solid judgment with understanding of journalistic standards and editorial ethics

 

About Our Intern Program:
  • Our internships are unpaid, but can be used for school credit.
  • This internship is Monday-Friday and approximately 10 hours/week
  • Internships begin on or around the beginning of each semester and will last for 10-12 weeks. Ending dates are flexible +/- 1 or 2 weeks depending on school requirements.

  • You are a rising senior or upcoming graduate from undergraduate or graduate school. Expected graduation date must be before June 2022.
