Arcol is building the future of building design—one that is fast, collaborative, and intuitive. We’re creating a browser-based 3D design tool that empowers all designers, owners and all types of roles in AEC to work seamlessly together from concept to construction. Just as Figma reimagined design collaboration for product teams, Arcol is doing the same for the AEC industry. If you’re passionate about tackling complex technical challenges and reshaping how buildings are designed, we’d love to have you join us.

What You’ll Do at Arcol

  • Build and optimize interactive 3D modeling tools that run entirely in the browser, enabling real-time collaboration at scale.
  • Develop high-performance graphics rendering pipelines using WebGL, WebGPU, or similar technologies to support complex architectural workflows.
  • Work on real-time collaboration features, including multi-user editing, version control, and conflict resolution.
  • Improve performance and stability across Arcol’s platform, ensuring a seamless experience even with large architectural models.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to create an intuitive and powerful design environment.
  • Contribute to our engineering culture by mentoring teammates, sharing knowledge, and helping us push the boundaries of what’s possible in browser-based 3D design.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience building and shipping user-facing applications.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures, and a sense of how technologies we use work under the hood.
  • Passion for intuitive user experiences and solving complex interaction challenges in 3D design tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills—Arcol is a highly team-oriented environment.

  • And a subset of the following:
    • Experience with web technologies: TypeScript, JavaScript, React, WebAssembly, WebGL/WebGPU.
    • Experience with native technologies: Rust, C++, GPU programming.
    • Experience with real-time rendering, computational geometry, and performance optimization for web-based applications.
    • Experience working with collaborative, multi-user applications, such as state synchronization, CRDT/OT, etc.
    • Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring other engineers.
    • Knowledge of architectural design workflows or CAD/BIM software.

At Arcol, we believe the future of design is collaborative, and we’re looking for engineers who are excited to build that future with us. If this sounds like you, let’s talk!
