Hiring Manager Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week); Exempt; Regular

Telecommute Agreement: Remote; Travel May Be Required

Salary: The Content Development Manager position has a full salary range of $65,000 - $90,000. Our salary placement approach considers both internal equity and opportunities for professional growth. As a result, candidates are typically placed between the minimum and maximum of $65,000 - $70,000 based on their skills, experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements. This ensures fairness among team members in similar positions while allowing for progression within the role over time. The salary does not include additional benefits offered to full-time employees, such as generous paid time off, health insurance (fully covered base medical plan and 99% covered vision and dental plan), and professional development.

Position Summary:

The Content Development Manager will be a critical force in driving Rise's new media and narrative-focused strategy through authentic and relatable content. This role will expand the base of young progressives by creating compelling digital assets that speak to the many issues impacting young people across the country. The ideal candidate will build audiences for Rise's podcasts and social media channels while helping drive the content strategy for the Rise 25 Media Fellowship.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Content Strategy Development (40%)

  • Design and implement a cohesive, cross-platform content strategy for Rise's owned media channels

  • Launch and grow Rise's podcast initiative, identifying format, topics, and potential guests that will resonate with Gen Z audiences

  • Develop editorial calendars that align with Rise's mission and organizational priorities

  • Create measurement frameworks to track performance and audience growth across platforms

  • Stay current on digital media trends, platform algorithm changes, and content consumption patterns among young voters

Rise 25 Media Fellowship Support (30%)

  • Collaborate with the Fellowship team to design and deliver content strategy training modules

  • Provide ongoing mentorship to Fellows developing their personal platforms and content

  • Help Fellows translate their organizing experience into compelling digital narratives

  • Create resources and templates to support Fellows' content development efforts

  • Facilitate connections between Fellows and potential media partners, brands, or influencers

Content Production & Management (20%)

  • Oversee the production of high-quality multimedia content (social posts, videos, podcast episodes, etc.)

  • Ensure all content maintains a consistent voice that's authentic to Rise and resonates with Gen Z audiences

  • Develop content that effectively bridges political engagement with youth culture and interests

  • Create templates and systems that enable efficient content production and publication

  • Manage content calendar and ensure timely delivery across platforms

Team Collaboration (10%)

  • Work closely with organizing, communications, and fellowship teams to ensure content strategy supports broader organizational goals

  • Coordinate with external partners, influencers, and brands on collaborative content initiatives

  • Provide content expertise to other teams as needed for campaigns and initiatives

  • Report regularly on content performance and audience insights to inform organizational strategy

  • Other duties as assigned by National Leadership (CEO, COO, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital content strategy, preferably with youth-focused brands or organizations

  • Proven track record of growing audiences and engagement on social platforms relevant to Gen Z

  • Experience developing and producing podcast content

  • Strong understanding of how digital content drives movement-building and political engagement

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex political issues into relatable content

  • Experience mentoring others in content development or digital strategy

  • Passion for progressive politics and youth empowerment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in political campaigns, organizing, or advocacy

  • Background in training or curriculum development

  • Understanding of content analytics and performance measurement

  • Familiarity with the specific issues and cultural references that resonate with diverse Gen Z communities

  • Experience managing relationships with influencers, brands, or media partners

  • Portfolio demonstrating successful content campaigns that drove measurable engagement
