The Edmonton RIN relies on strong leadership to drive change and achieve its mission and we are currently seeking volunteers for the Steering Committee and its Sub-Committees.

What are the expectations of an Edmonton RIN volunteer?

The community should view the Steering Committee as competent, skilled, and capable of effectively governing the organisation. Additionally, the Steering Committee and its Sub-Committees should have a diverse range of members with the necessary skills and expertise to fulfill their governance responsibilities and reflect the community they serve, ensuring the trust and confidence of all stakeholders.

To fulfill their duties, it is essential for Members to possess certain competencies and qualities. These include:

an understanding of governance, including the difference between governance and management and the roles and responsibilities of the Steering Committee and individual members.
personal and professional integrity, wisdom, and judgment are also crucial, along with a commitment to ethical standards and behaviour.
effective teamwork and communication with other Members and the Specialist, ERIN Operations.
the ability to think critically and ask strategic questions.
