Aftercare Program Implementation Instructions

Objective:

To ensure the seamless integration of our aftercare program into the pre-need planning process, enhancing the overall experience for the families we serve and contributing to the success of our pre-need program.

Procedure:

  1. Timing of Introduction:

    • The introduction of the aftercare program and the designated agent (hereafter referred to as the counselor) to the family is a critical step that should occur immediately following the completion of at-need arrangements.
    • This introduction should take place before the family departs from the funeral home premises.
  2. Mode of Introduction:

    • The counselor's introduction to the family can be facilitated through various means, depending on the circumstances and preferences of the family. The options include:
      • In-person introduction at the funeral home.
      • Virtual introduction via Zoom or a similar platform.
      • Telephonic introduction if the above options are not feasible.
  3. Scheduling the Aftercare Appointment:

    • During the initial introduction, the counselor will schedule a follow-up appointment with the family. This appointment is dedicated to discussing the aftercare services provided by the funeral home.
    • The counselor will ensure that the timing of this appointment is convenient for the family, taking into consideration their current state and needs.
  4. Review of Aftercare Information:

    • At the scheduled appointment, the counselor will present and review the comprehensive aftercare information packet. This packet includes, but is not limited to, support resources, grief counseling services, and information on upcoming memorial events.
    • The counselor will address any questions or concerns the family may have, providing them with reassurance and support during this difficult time.
