Building Trades Summer Camp

The Building Trades Summer Camp Program is designed to serve as an introduction to the union construction industry. Students can explore and build skills while learning in a controlled environment about high demand career opportunities. The Upper Peninsula Construction Council (a joint Labor/Management Council established and sponsored by affiliated signatory union contractors and building trades) in collaboration with UP Michigan Works and Local Education Agencies (ISD’s & RESA’s) have developed this program that is skill based, labor and industry approved and directly linked to explicit real-world workplace situations.

We are recruiting for the official start of the Building Trades Summer Camp Program to begin July 7-August 14, 2025.

Applications close May 2025.

Must be an incoming High School Freshman-Senior.
Must be able to commit to the full 6 week program.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must live within 45 minutes of Gladstone.
Must be available to work a one of two 4 hour shifts (7:30-11:30am or 12:00-4:00pm Monday-Thursday, in addition everyone reports 7:30-11:30am Friday for a fieldtrip in partnership with MiSTEM).
EARN($13.00/Hr + $200 completion bonus) and LEARN PROGRAM.
