Summer Internship Pipeline Program Application
Applications are now closed for the 2023 program! Please check back December of 2023 for the 2024 program.
Applications submitted after Feb, 3, 2023 will not be accepted.
The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (“LCD”) announces its 6th annual Summer Internship Pipeline Program for college students of color.  The mission of the LCD is to unite the resources, energy and commitment of Connecticut’s leading law firms, corporations, public sector entities, law schools and bar associations to make Connecticut a more attractive place for attorneys of color to practice law and find satisfying professional opportunities.

We are recruiting Connecticut residents who are high achieving college students with an interest in a legal career. The program has a focus on students who come from racial and ethnic backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession. The program provides exposure to the legal profession and guidance and support along the path towards a career in law.

Program Overview
The 10-week summer program consists of a full-time paid internship, weekly seminars and a mock trial. The seminars provide interns with insight into the various professions that are available in the legal field, and will also give the interns the opportunity to connect with members of various law firms, legal organizations and law schools. The mock-trial will provide interns with hands on experience in presenting a case under the supervision of practicing attorneys and a Superior Court Judge. Participation in all elements of the program is mandatory.

Students selected for this internship will also be assigned an attorney who will serve as their mentor throughout the summer.

There are a limited number of internships.  Only fully-completed applications will be considered.

To be eligible, the interested applicant must:
  • Be a rising sophomore, junior or senior at an accredited college or university in the fall of 2023. Current seniors graduating May 2023 are not eligible.
  • Be a resident of Connecticut (the program does not provide housing accommodations or transportation).
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States
