IMG_20230101_160109351_HDR
Howard EcoWorks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to empower communities and diverse workforces to respect and restore our natural systems for future generations. We are hosting a biochar burn at Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Dr, in Ellicott City on 2/18 beginning at 11am (rain date 2/25). The burn is expected to last for 2-3 hours.

Volunteers are invited to participate in the burn and learn more about the environmental benefits of biochar - volunteers can also take some biochar home with them for their own gardens!  Volunteer activities include using hand saws, loppers and pruners to cut woody material to size for the burn.  Supervised children and families are welcome! This event is made possible by an Innovation Grant from Howard County Government.

Volunteers must wear long pants, bring water, and be ready to work outside. Safety gloves and vests will be provided. Please note there may not be restrooms on-site.

No experience is required; there will be a training and instructions provided at the start of the event.

Please fill out the waiver form to participate in the volunteer event.

Feel free to email us at info@howardecoworks.org if you have any questions.

Please read through the Release of Liability and Publicity agreements to participate in the Watershed Makeover. If you are under 18 years old, please have your guardians look over the agreements before participating in our events.
