Remote Telephone Triage Nurse

ABOUT US:
We are a professional and innovative remote telehealth organization that specializes in supporting in-bound after-hours nurse triage.

The successful candidate will have extensive (5+years) experience as a Registered Nurse and will have in-depth emergency room and/or clinical experience with knowledge of both adult and pediatric issues, enabling them to accurately assess patients and communication clearly over the phone.

The telephone triage nurse is responsible for triaging patient problems, communicating with parents/callers and referring patients to the correct after-hours location if necessary.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working from home, is self-motivated and independent, has a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of patients and is comfortable using both computers and software applications in a fast past environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accurately assess patient's conditions over the phone, documenting a detailed phone encounter that adequately represents these conditions.
  • Determine the appropriate guidelines that pertain to the patient's conditions and select the correct care advice based on the phone assessment using Schmitt-Thompson protocols. 
  • Provide information about the patient's condition in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Follow-up with patient and caller to ascertain response to treatment and recovery status.
  • Coordinate with health care professionals to ensure proper follow-ups are made.
  • Utilize technical applications and platforms with ease. 

REQUIRED Qualifications: 

  • Registered Nurse with a current, unrestricted compact nursing license with the ability to obtain licensure in other states as needed per client contracts.
  • Additional state licenses NY, IL and/or CA 
  • Minimum five (5) years of Registered Nurse experience.
  • Previous adult and pediatric nursing experience in either an emergency room and/or private practice.
  • Home office environment in a private area to comply with HIPAA regulations
  • High speed internet, no dial up
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Proof of current professional liability insurance
SCHEDULE:

Standard: Evenings, Nights & Weekends 4-6 hour shifts
Supplemental: Holidays • Rotating weekend coverage

Compensation:
Salary: starting at $30 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per month
