Night Oven Operator- Loading and unloading

Job Description:

Industrial bakery located in Canarsie, Brooklyn is seeking an oven operator. An oven operator supervises the baking process during food production in commercial bakeries or factories. As part of your duties, you are responsible for set up, monitoring, and adjusting oven temperature and time controls. You examine the products during and after baking to ensure product quality. You will be responsible for loading and unloading the ovens. Continuous upper body movement and repetitive hand motions will be required for this position. Must be able to work in extreme hot conditions, stand for at least 8 hours a day, do overtime, carry, push, pull, and lift comfortably 50 lbs.  

Requirements

Responsible for the production of a quality product that meets all customer and regulatory requirements.
Effectively communicates as required with the supervisor.
Follow specific directions, fully understand the training on safety, QA, and USDA rules.
Maintains the work area clean and safe at all times.
Assists other employees and Supervisor when requested.
Performs with the best effort, as indicated by the production line’s pace.

MUST BE CROSS-TRAINABLE
Respect for authority is a must.
Essential reading, writing, and math skills.
High School Diploma/Equivalent REQUIRED
Hard-working, dependable, safety, conscious, and team-oriented.
Work standing or walking for long periods.
Work bending and squatting.
Work making fast and repetitive hand motions.
Work in hot conditions.
Also, able to push/pull heavy loads using hand jack.
Adhere to all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), such as proper handwashing practices and adhering to the employee hygiene plan.
Follow all USDA guidelines
Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and quality assurance
Able to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and frequently climb, bend, and stretch.

FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time 

SALARY: $15  per hour 

SHIFT:  First Shift
