What is the RFSI Europe Pitch Session: 
A session at RFSI Europe (26-27 February in Brussels) that features 4 innovative companies who are accelerating the transformation of the agriculture & food system. Each participant will get 6 minutes to pitch and 2-3 minutes for questions.

Theme: Driving Planetary and Human Health through AgriFood Innovation
The RFSI Europe pitch event invites start-ups advancing the connection between planetary health and human well-being through transformative food systems. As this sector becomes essential to achieving sustainable health outcomes, we’re seeking high-impact innovations that address these pathways.

Categories:

  1. Ecosystem Health and Regeneration
    Solutions that restore and support ecosystem resilience, with a focus on soil, plant, and animal health. This category encompasses technologies and products that measure, enhance, or regenerate the health of ecosystems and agricultural environments.
  2. Intelligent Supply Chains
    Start-ups that optimize efficiency, transparency, and resilience across the food supply chain, using advanced tools to improve the journey from production to consumer. This category targets innovations that streamline logistics, track supply integrity, and boost sustainable distribution.
  3. Nutrition and Health Optimization
    Innovations focused on improving human health through nutrition and data-driven insights. This category includes nutrient-dense and functional food products, personalized nutrition solutions, and technologies that link dietary choices with health resilience, longevity, and wellness outcomes.
What Selected Finalists Will Get:

Who Should Apply: Application Criteria

We invite applications from seed to growth-stage start-ups. To ensure high-quality solutions with a tangible impact, all applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Stage of Development: The product or solution should be at least at the seed stage, with demonstrated market traction or early validation. Preferably, companies should have a minimum viable product (MVP) or a developed prototype beyond the concept or idea stage.
  • Focus on Measurable Impact: Start-ups should clearly articulate how their innovation supports planetary and/or human health through measurable outcomes, whether through ecosystem regeneration, supply chain improvements, or health metrics.
  • Scalability and Market Potential: Solutions should demonstrate potential for scale across markets or regions, showcasing adaptability within food systems.
  • Innovative and Evidence-Backed Approach: Applicants should provide data, studies, or pilot results that validate the innovation’s effectiveness, illustrating a clear, evidence-backed approach
  • Alignment with RFSI Theme: Applicants must focus on connecting planetary and human health, directly contributing to sustainability within food systems.
  • Able to attend the conference in person on February 26-27 in Brussels

How It Works

  1. Applications Open: November 19, 2024
    Start-ups can submit applications online, showcasing their innovation’s impact, scalability, and alignment with RFSI’s theme.
  2. Applications Close: January 6, 2025
  3. Finalist Notifications: Week of January 13, 2025
  4. Finalist Announcement: Week of January 20, 2025
  5. RFSI Europe Pitch Event: February 2025
    Winners from each category, along with the People’s Choice winner, will present their solutions to the audience of 300+, showcasing the future of sustainable food and health innovation.
