The Water Hub's Color of Water Initiative was created to build voice and visibility for people of color in the water movement. We want to build capacity for spokespeople and help connect reporters with a more diverse set of experts in the water field, so we're building an online directory and speakers guild to amplify:

  • underrepresented voices of Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian and Pacific Islander, other people of color, including LGBTQ2S+ people of color
  • different types of expertise and ways of knowing (including lived experience, traditional practices, ancestral knowledge, etc.)
  • people who work in fields that intersect with water, like health, farming, housing, forest management, urban development, etc.
