Expectations and Guidelines
Wildlife: Entry into forest requires permission from the forest department and the police department. View wildlife from a safe distance. Stay on trails intended to lessen the impact on the fragility of the ecosystem Handling, agitating, or disturbing any species will warrant strict action Collection of any kind of flora or fauna is not permitted Exercise caution, control and care during observation and photography in the forest to avoid stressing species or exposing them to danger.Camping: Camp only in specifically designated areas within the campsite. Campfires are not allowed Smoking and Alcohol is restricted Avoid deodorants/perfumes or any strong scents. No camouflage pants or shirt. Use dull coloured clothes- dull blue, grey. Property: We discourage operating any audio device, such as a radio or music players loudly. Do not carve, cut, or damage any live trees. Use water efficiently. Do not tighten the tap knobs too tightly. Please take care of your belongings and ensure to keep your cameras and other electronic equipment dry. Kindly avoid carrying plastics to the venue To help us manage the waste we encourage you to separate organic and inorganic wastes and use the respective dustbins and remove all personal property and trash when leaving. Any damage to the property or crockery or cutlery will be charged at actual.Public Behavior: Respect the culture and sentiments of locals.Expectations: Please understand that this campsite is an environmental education centre and not a resort. • Our campsite is equipped with Grid and Solar Power.• BSNL and Airtel networks work at selected spots within the campus• Room service is not available. • Internet connectivity is meant for office use. • The closest ATM and Pharmacy are 14km away.• Hospitals: Melige hospital at Thirthahalli (24km)and Manipal hospital at Manipal (50km) • Please carry fully charged batteries for your cameras, torches, laptops and other equipment. Having spare ones will help. • Everyone is expected to wash their own plates, glasses and tea cups after every meal.
