ABOUT THE JOB

Flatirons is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering team. This role involves managing our talented engineers, overseeing onboarding, career path management, and performance feedback while driving process creation and team development. You will also participate in early project phases, assisting with solutions architecture and roadmap creation. You will be responsible for high-level oversight of projects, ensuring that developers stick to timelines and produce high-quality results. This position requires flexibility and the ability to maintain multiple focuses. This is a full-time remote position, and candidates must be available to work Eastern Standard Time.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Managing and growing the engineering team, including onboarding, career path management, and employee feedback.
• Creating and refining development processes to improve team efficiency.
• High-level oversight of projects, ensuring that developers stick to timelines and produce high-quality results
• Collaborating with sales and project teams to provide solutions architecture and create project roadmaps in the early stages of client engagements.
• Providing technical leadership and hands-on contributions to client projects, particularly in Ruby and NestJS environments.
• Ensuring successful project delivery by collaborating with PMs, QA engineers, designers, and other team members.
• Helping to foster a strong, supportive engineering culture focused on technical excellence.

ABOUT YOU

• You live in Latin America.
• You have 7+ years of professional software development experience
• You have 3+ years of management experience
• You are proficient in Ruby and Node.js.
• You have prior experience managing engineering teams, driving career growth, and creating processes that scale.
• You have hands-on experience with software architecture and roadmap creation.
• You are comfortable interacting directly with U.S.-based clients and communicating technical ideas clearly.
• You are passionate about delivering high-quality software that meets user needs and business goals.
