Internship Application
for College Students & Recent Graduates

Our paid internships are for current undergraduate and graduate students and those who have already earned a degree who are passionate about marine science and the ocean and want to share their passion with others. Interns receive hands-on experience in youth STEM education, educator professional development, citizen science, community outreach, research vessel operations, digital media & marketing, science communications, photography, filmmaking and/or nonprofit and business administration. ANGARI interns work closely with our employees to gain hands-on experience and become an integral part of the ANGARI team during their internships.

Our interns are expected to commit to a 3- or 4-month internship depending on time of year and work on site ~20 hours per week, plus occasional evenings or weekends. Interns receive a monthly stipend of $1,000. Accommodations are not provided except for when traveling aboard our research vessel. We are interested in all qualified candidates but can only consider those candidates who have valid authorization to work in the United States.

All applicants should be:

  • enthusiastic about the ocean, science research and STEM education
  • hard working with a positive, can-do attitude
  • organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask
  • excellent communicators
  • team players who value team success as much as their own
  • honest and transparent
  • flexible and demonstrate willingness and ability to readily respond to changing circumstances and priorities
  • ready to learn, be challenged and push themselves outside their comfort zones
  • fluent in English
  • have a valid driver's license and ability to get to and from the office and vessel locations
  • able to dedicate a minimum of 4 months (spring & fall) or 3 months (summer) and 20 hours/week to the internship, including the occasional evening or weekend
  • able to pass a Level 2 Background Check
  • legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to complete IRS Form W-9
