Welcome to the 2022 METALCON Call-For Presentations. We appreciate your interest in presenting at this world-class event devoted exclusively to the use of metal in design and construction.

We are seeking dynamic presenters who can educate, engage, inspire and present material in ways that will enhance the METALCON attendees’ experience.

 

Educational sessions will take place in Learning Centers and the Main Stage Theater located inside the Exhibit Hall.  Sessions are 60 minutes in length (including Q&A) and must be targeted to address the real-world, metal-related challenges and opportunities of:

  • General and sub-contractors in commercial, residential and institutional construction

  • Designers and architects

  • Engineers

  • CEO’s, GM’s, owners, presidents, principals

  • Sales and Marketing Leaders

  • Project Managers

  • Facilities managers

  • Foreman/Crew Leaders

  • Installers/Technicians

  • Information Technology Personnel

  • HR/Workforce Development Personnel


METALCON also has limited opportunities for extended in-depth workshops.  These courses should be certifications, extensive trainings, specialty courses.  When submitting a workshop, please list the title as "course title - WORKSHOP" so that the reviewer knows it should be considered a workshop

 

METALCON has a strict policy against commercial presentations and sales pitches in our educational sessions. Please follow these guidelines to be considered as a presenter at the 2022 program:

  1. We are seeking real-world, topics that are aligned with current industry challenges and opportunities
  2. Topics must be appropriate for:
    a. Targeted for a specific experience level – and clearly defined as such in your session description.
    b. Targeted toward a specific audience segment of the METALCON Community (such as management, architects, contractors, installers, etc.)
  3. We encourage presentations that employ a variety of delivery formats such as case-studies, panel discussion, product compare & contrast, Point-Counterpoint, small group discussions/roundtables, hands-on learning, and tips, tricks and hacks
  4. All courses should be eligible for AIA LU or HSW credits and/or ICC CEU credits.  METALCON will apply for and maintain the course accreditation

 

Topics of interest to the program committee include but are not limited to:

  • All aspects of building and construction related to metal from basic to advanced concepts
  • Designing with and specifying metal for roofing, walls, cladding
  • Trends in materials, tools, techniques, building codes
  • Metal in Architecture/Design
  • Topics related to the building envelope including roofing, walls, cladding, air barriers, and rainscreening
  • Construction technologies, benefits/challenges/implementation/resources
  • Metal construction safety
  • Business strategies including project management, sales, marketing, legal
  • Labor, workforce development, diversity, recruiting/encouraging/supporting the next generation
  • Sustainability, resiliency, Solar, Off-site/modular
