Join our 2024 API Local News Summit on Rural Journalism, Community and Sustainability

The American Press Institute is holding a summit on June 11-12 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to identify and advance solutions that help news leaders embrace and expand their convening and facilitation power — both to improve their community and support their overall resilience.

The summit is designed for discussion and exchanging ideas, rather than panels. It's free, invitation-based and we anticipate up to 60 attendees. Participants must agree to Chatham House Rules to ensure the openness of the conversations.

If you have experience or interest in leading innovative engagement in rural communities or work in spaces beyond journalism that would add to our discussion (e.g. civic engagement, bridge-building or other similar fields), please fill out this form by Wednesday, May 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET to be considered for an invitation.

Have questions? Reach out to Kevin Loker, API's director of strategic partnerships and research, at kevin.loker@pressinstitute.org.

The summit will take place on June 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on June 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Are you interested and able to attend the full 2-day summit?*
