There are over 46,000 collateral consequences that create barriers for individuals who have been convicted of a crime. Housing is a right for all but housing restrictions exist for those who have been convicted of a past offense. If we truly believe in justice, then we should not continue to penalize a person forever. No more!

Employment is the cornerstone to successfully PRE- and Re-Entry. There should be limitations to access to a person's criminal background that are specific to each job. There should be a time limit on access to a person's criminal history for occupational licensing. Currently, Virginia requests 20 years worth of history - despite providing various trade programs inside of the Department of Corrections. No more!
