February Bar Grant Application Deadline: Monday, February 3, 2025
July Bar Grant Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 30, 2025

Program Overview

The goal of the LCD Bridge to the Bar program is to eliminate some of the financial barriers experienced by aspiring attorneys in pursuit of a legal career. The program will focus on current participants/alumni of any of LCD’s student programs (e.g., Summer College Pipeline Program, Mentor/Mentee program, etc.). The 2025 Bridge to the Bar program is targeted to graduating/graduated law students who have expenses related to preparing for the bar exam.

Background

The mission of LCD is to increase the representation of lawyers of color in the state of Connecticut. We have learned that along that path there are often a number of hidden barriers that might hinder individuals’ ability to achieve that goal. Through the Bridge to the Bar program, LCD endeavors to provide financial support, in part, to address some of those barriers.

Who Can Apply

Any graduating/graduated law student who is:
  1.  Participating or has participated in an LCD-related student program (e.g., LCD Summer College Pipeline Program, LCD Mentor/Mentee Program, etc.)
  2. Applying for admission to a state bar in 2025 (preference given to the Connecticut Bar)

For your application to be considered complete, you must complete all of the required fields in the form.

February Bar Grant Application Deadline: Monday, February 3, 2025
July Bar Grant Application Deadline: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
