Done in collaboration with NC Agromedicine Institute. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a national program that employs a 8-hour training to teach a 5-step tool to identify and respond to signs of mental illness, substance use, and mental health crisis. MHFA provides signs and symptoms of mental illness, how to help, and training on crisis intervention. This training is offered through NC Agromedicine Institute (the Institute) and the Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network-NC (FRSAN-NC). The mission of the Institute is to promote the health and safety of farmers, fishermen, foresters, their workers and their families through research, prevention/intervention, and education/outreach. The Mental Health First Aid Training will be free of charge and will be at Creekside Farm in Arden, NC. Once you register, more details will be sent.
