AVAILABILITY & APPLICATION PROCESS

We are accepting applications for 2023 Fall term and the 2024 calendar year.
We have availability for both terms at this time.

STEP 1: Submit application

Processing time: 2 weeks

 STEP 2: Receive Acceptance Letter from I-House

Acceptance letter is a temporary hold until Step 3 is completed

If your application gets accepted but there is no availability for selected dates,
you will be added to the waitlist and be informed for dates overlapping or future openings

STEP 3: Secure your Temporary Hold

5 days to complete step 3 after receiving the acceptance letter

1. Pay your deposit ($800)

2. Follow the instructions in your Acceptance Email to share the necessary information


Age Restriction: One of our admissions requirement is to be 21 or older when checking in. However, during the summer term, we rarely make exceptions for strong applications if there is availability. 2023 Summer Term, applications of applicants that are under 21 will not be considered until May 1st, 2023 per management's decision.

COVID-19: In general, all residents need to be fully vaccinated at the moment of their arrival to live at I-House DC. 

No Availability: If there is not a room available for the dates you have selected, after submitting an application with the non-refundable application fee, you will be placed on our waiting list. You will be notified immediately if a room becomes available for the dates that you have selected.

Mission Statement: International Student House, a non-profit organization in the heart of Washington, DC, provides an exceptional residential experience to a highly diverse international community of graduate students, interns, and visiting scholars. The House promotes inter-cultural dialogue, encourages life-long connections, and fosters global citizenship.

Reservation Information

Reservations start and stop on the 1st or 15th of each month. You can check in any day after the reservation start date but are financially responsible for the full reservation.
Your reservation minimum is 30 days.

Check In Date Example:
The reservation and room charges will start on the 1st even if your flight arrives on the 5th of the month.
 
Check Out Date Example:
The reservation and room charges will end on the 15th if you check out on 9th of the month.
