2025 CERTIFIED TRAINER APPLICATION

The Safe & Together Institute's Trainer Certification Program enables high-quality training for domestic abuse–informed practice from right within your agency. Partner Agencies experience more flexibility with lower per training costs (than S&TI faculty-led training) and a higher level of personalization tailored to your unique organisational needs. Certified Trainers gain an industry-recognised credential that amplifies their voice as an expert and a systems change leader. 

Who is this for?

Key staff whose agency wishes them to become a Certified Trainer to aid in the implementation of the Safe & Together Model with high-quality training.

What are the prerequisites? 

  • Significant experience with the Safe & Together Model

  • Completed CORE training with 80%+ post-test score (prior to application)

  • Training experience preferred

  • Employment at an approved or pending Partner Agency

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Domestic violence and child welfare industry experience

  • Signed Trainer Agreement

What is Train the Trainer (TTT)?
As part of our Trainer Certification Program, Safe & Together's Train the Trainer (TTT) program is designed to provide a skills-oriented foundation for delivering the CORE Training, the Overview Training, and the One-Hour Briefing. Trainer certification is a way for agencies to enhance their own staff capacity and/or the capacity of their community to respond to domestic abuse cases involving children.

Certification Requirements

  • Application acceptance

  • Successful Train the Trainer completion

  • Participation in post-training mentoring

  • Required reading and online learning

Expectations

Partner Agencies and Certified Trainers commit to:

  • Being a good community member 

  • Implementing the Safe & Together Model faithfully

  • Collaborating with the Safe & Together Institute

  • Using only approved materials

  • Participating in evaluation efforts

  • Supporting certification protocols including compliance with registration and attendance processes for all internal and external training
