This form is for students who wish to apply for a leave of absence from their course.
Students on a student visa can only apply for a leave of absence or deferral under very special circumstances.
Students will be made aware of the decision by email.

Please note, an application to defer an enrolment will only be considered where there are compassionate or compelling circumstances. These include:

serious illness or injury, where a medical certificate covers the full period of the deferral; or
bereavement of close family members such as parents or grandparents (Where possible a death certificate should be provided); or
major political upheaval or natural disaster in the home country requiring emergency travel and this has impacted on the student’s studies; or
a traumatic experience which could include:
i. involvement in, or witnessing of a serious accident; or
ii. witnessing or being the victim of a serious crime; or
iii. and this has impacted on the student (these cases should be supported by a report from the police or a mental health professional); or
where we were unable to offer a pre-requisite unit; or
inability to begin studying on the course commencement date due to delay in receiving a student visa; or
inability to study for a portion of a study period due to cultural reasons, e.g. Marriage arrangements in home country etc.
