Support your work! Bookclubs offers club membership fee billing via Stripe.

With a Bookclubs Pro Plus account, you can now support your work as a book club leader with club membership subscriptions via Stripe payment processing. Bookclubs charges a very competitive 3% processing fee. (In comparison, Patreon charges up to 17% in processing fees.)

Eligibility: Your club must be subscribed to Book Clubs Pro Plus.

Processing charges: Stripe charges 2.9% plus a flat $0.30 fee per credit card transaction. Bookclubs charges an additional 3% processing fee.

For example, with a $1 monthly subscription, Stripe would take $0.33 (2.9% of $1 + $0.30) and Bookclubs would take $.03 (3% of $1) leaving a payout of $0.64. For a $10 monthly subscription, Stripe would take $0.59 (2.9% of $10 +0.30) and Bookclubs would take $0.30, leaving you a payout of $9.11.

Billing cycles: A member is charged when they join your book club, and then again on the anniversary of their join date until they leave the club (i.e., each member is on a different billing schedule depending on the day they joined your club.)

Subscription Amounts: You must charge a minimum of $3 subscription fee to members, but there is no maximum.

How can a member cancel their subscription? Leaving the club will cancel their subscription. Once they leave the club, no additional payments will be made (but they will not get a pro-rated refund for whatever is left of the current subscription period).

Notes on current restrictions on what we can/can’t do in terms of subscription types:
You can choose to collect a one-time join fee, a recurring monthly fee, or a recurring annual fee. Other collection cadences are not currently available (e.g. weekly, bi-monthly).

You can also set up a tiered membership for your book club that includes different subscription levels. For example, Tier 1 pays $5 per month, Tier 2 pays $10 per month, and so on. If you want to set up multiple tiers, please provide the different levels and monthly amount to be charged. **If you prefer to charge a one-time-only join fee to members, please indicate this in the space provided below.

Please provide a description of the membership benefits (i.e. what members get from their paid subscription) so that potential members understand what they're signing up for. This text will be displayed on the join page for your club where members input their payment information.
