With the Government intent on rebuilding public confidence in fire safety, the draft Building Safety Bill, published in July 2020, brings forward changes designed to improve building and fire safety to make people feel safer in their homes. This includes the introduction of the new Building Safety Regulator, which will oversee the safe design, construction and occupation of high-risk buildings, including high-rise. It also supports the new requirement for a ‘golden thread’ of vital information, which was outlined in the Hackitt Review. These changes can appear complex for the industry and with a number of new requirements, we’re hosting a webinar to support organisations in understanding their obligations as a Duty Holder.
Presented Andy Lowe, training and technical director at Bureau Veritas, in this webinar he reviews the draft building safety bill and covers the following topics; the new ‘three gateway’ process, accountable person and building safety manager, safety case reviews, transitional arrangements and timings and how Bureau Veritas can support.
