Howard EcoWorks 5th Annual Watershed Makeover | Alternative Spring Break
3/25 - 3/29
SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

Howard EcoWorks volunteer in green hat, grey sweatshirt, green pants, boots and gloves. He is pouring soil out of an orange Home Depot bucket onto a tree sapling. There is a wagon of soil behind him and 2 shovels on the grass to his right.

Howard EcoWorks is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to empower communities and diverse workforces to respect and restore our natural systems for future generations.

Due to unforeseen weather conditions, our Annual Watershed Makeover is being combined with Alternative Spring Break. Community members will have the opportunity to provide service to our local environment & neighborhoods through beautification and improvement efforts. Our primary goals will be to:

  • Target trash and debris
  • Remove invasive plant species
  • Tree care

These activities are open to children ages 8 and up. You may bring small children, but they must be supervised by their adult, and keep in mind the work is not appropriate for them.

Howard EcoWorks will provide:

  • Tools and tool training
  • Safety vests
  • And work gloves (limited)

We recommend that volunteers bring:

  • Appropriate clothing for the weather and the outdoors
  • Additional working gloves, or child size gloves for young children
  • Closed-toed shoes appropriate for the outdoors. Ideally boots, some areas may be wet and muddy.
  • Your own water and bottle. (The crews will also have water for refilling)
