SBCC Promise Eligibility Review Form

Policy

The SBCC Promise Eligibility Review Form is available for eligible students who did not complete eligibility requirements or experienced a leave of absence. This form is also available to new eligible students who completed high school through GED, homeschool, court school, CHSPE, or online school will need to submit the SBCC Promise Eligibility Review Form for a manual review.


We review each form on a first-come-first-served basis. Below is a list of circumstances we may consider:

  • You enrolled at SBCC after your first year from high school graduation or equivalent.
  • You attended another college or university your first year after high school graduation or equivalent.
  • You completed high school with an online school, homeschool, GED, or CHSPE.
  • You enrolled full-time after the term deadline.
  • You submitted a financial aid application after the deadline (FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application)
  • You participated in academic counseling after the deadline.
  • You experienced a leave of absence due to illness or other circumstances. 


Instructions

1. Complete all eligibility requirements to be considered for approval.

  • Apply for financial aid for the current and upcoming academic year (FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application)
  • Meet with an academic counselor to create or evaluate your educational plan.
  • Enroll full time or request a reduced unit load from DSPS.
  • Review your academic standing at SBCC.

2. Answer each question on this form accurately.

3. Provide short answers to the following questions:

  • What circumstances beyond your control prevented you from meeting the SBCC Promise eligibility requirements?
  • What steps have you currently taken to meet SBCC Promise eligibility requirements?
  • What is your plan to continue to meet SBCC Promise eligibility requirements?


4. Review and agree to the policy and guidelines.


5. Submit a completed form. The form may take you between 15-20 minutes to complete.

SBCC Promise Eligibility Review Forms must be completed and submitted by the end of the semester to be considered for review. Please allow two to three weeks for processing. By checking the box below, you acknowledge to have read and agreed to the policies and guidelines.
